Magic: The Gathering continues to evolve, embracing the realm of horror with its upcoming representation, Duskmourn. Wizards of the Coast has unveiled new, spine-chilling collaborations, among them an intriguing partnership we're excited to share today: Chucky.
This Secret Lair will introduce five Magic cards that have been reimagined with nods to Chucky. Among these is a double-faced card featuring the notorious doll himself, presented as "Kardur, Doomscourge." The card design allows players to showcase Chucky either before or after opening his packaging. Other notable inclusions are "Tiffany, Bride of Chucky," representing "Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire," along with several memorable scenes from the classic films.
Whether you are a devotee of Magic or have a passion for horror cinema, this Secret Lair will launch on the official website as part of the upcoming Super Drop beginning on September 30. This event will also spotlight two additional drops centered on Ghostbusters cards. As with the majority of recent Secret Lair releases, the non-foil version will retail for $30, while the foil variant will be available for $40, limited in availability until supplies are exhausted.
If you're just starting with Magic, know that this isn’t the inaugural instance when the franchise has welcomed crossovers. Previous releases have featured collaborations with Monty Python's Holy Grail, Jurassic World, and Fallout: New Vegas. For those seeking a more accessible introduction to the game, the forthcoming Foundations set can be preordered now ahead of its release in November.
